Sorry (Not Sorry)

A Clinical Psychologist & A Pastor talk forgiveness…

This new series from Rhythms Canberra brings together Brain Science & Christian faith as friends, not foes, when we explore the thorny issue of forgiveness. It’s an issue that affects us all, and we’ll be giving you the tools and practices to move toward the kind of thriving we all crave.

Session 1: Forgive them? Really?

In the first session, we talk about why forgiveness is something you might want to pursue and then myth bust about what forgiveness is (and isn’t).

Session 2: It’s not fair

In the second session we talk about the justice piece of forgiveness. We also dive into tools for grief and loss, restitution and consequences, and the importance of setting boundaries in forgiveness.

Session 3: I’m angry

In this third session, we talk about how anger fits with forgiveness, why anger is a gift for us, and what to do when it turns up.

Session 4: Hooked

What do you do when you can’t stop thinking about it? This session we talk about sticky thoughts: how to deal with those 2am recurring and intrusive thoughts.

Session 5: My case is special

In the fifth session we tackle some thorny questions: what if it’s myself I need to forgive? What if it’s God I need to forgive? What do I do with all this guilt? Then we give some practical scripts on how to say sorry, and how to confront those who have hurt you.

Interactive Sessions

We were joined by a range of fantastic hosts who added their own unique flavour to the course. At every SNS session will always hold space for people to ask the difficult questions (without offering trite answers).
